Billing Specialists
Job Description:
West Georgia Dermatology is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of medical billing processes, excellent attention to detail, and experience with the Modernizing Medicine Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of patient billing, from insurance verification to charge entry, claim submission, and follow-ups.
Handle patient inquiries related to billing, providing clear and concise explanations.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies.
Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims.
Work closely with the Modernizing Medicine EHR system for claim processing and record keeping.
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Collaborate with the clinical team and front office staff to ensure smooth operations.
Stay updated with changing insurance rules, regulations, and procedures.
Assist in other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous experience in a medical billing role, preferably in a dermatology setting.
Proficiency in the Modernizing Medicine EHR system.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
Understanding of insurance guidelines, including Medicare and Medicaid.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex billing issues.
